CALGARY, Feb. 5 /CNW/ - Leeward announces that it has today accepted the resignation of Mr. Brian C. Comrie as Chief Financial Officer and Director of the Company effective January 13, 2010. The Board of Directors wishes to thank Mr. Comrie for his devoted service to the Company over the past several years.

The Company also announces the resignation of Mr. James W. Davis as President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director of Leeward effective this date. The Board of Directors wishes to acknowledge the contribution Mr. Davis has made to the Company during his twenty-one years of service as the head of the Company. Mr. Davis will concentrate his efforts on providing expertise to the mining industry through Taiga Consultants Ltd. The Company will continue to rely upon Taiga Consultants Ltd. for technical support services in the continued exploration and development of its Nithi Mountain moly project.

The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. James A. Kelly, PGeol, PEng. as Director and President of Leeward. Mr. Kelly is a professional geologist with 50 years experience in all phases of mineral exploration, development, and production in Canada and abroad. He is familiar with Leeward's projects and will assist the Company in moving forward with the Nithi Mountain moly project and Pistol Lake gold property. The Company will remain halted pending resolution of certain matters with the Exchange.

The Company will issue a news release announcing the reinstatement to trading.
